Well several things have happened this month:

1. I got my Aussie driver's licence. I had to turn my WA one in though. I thought $25 was expensive for a US licence for 5 years - hell no!!!! Here it cost me $135 for a 5 year one.

2. Went overnight camping to Moruya on the coast with the Scouts. Took Kelly with us and of course he was a hit and the life of the party with the kids. Ages - very young to teens. R and I are going to become Leaders (me assistant leader) for ages 13-19. Leaders are very badly needed for this age group. I have to fill out paperwork, have a police check and get 3 references from friends who have kids that will "say that they would leave their children with me". At my age - trying to find friends with kids is not easy.

3. My stuff has arrived and we are still in the process of putting things away. Both Grand clocks are up and running along with the Cuckoo clock. We have turned off the biggest clock as it was really loud. When we first started it - Datsun would sing (woooo wooooo woooo) to it. Funny. We have set up the kitchen table, my nic-nac thingy, etc. This place is starting to look like home. The kitchen doesn't really have enough storage space, so we bought a nice used TV center to hold pot/pans, baking stuff, etc. It fits nicely next to the fridge. We also have a cream colored carpet here that we have had cleaned, so we bought some neat runners for the halls and 3 good size rugs for the dining area and living room. Think the Eagle and Eagle plates will go above the TV and R has put up all of his shot glasses. Will do pictures soon. We are going to make the guest room kinda in a room that will represent the US. Rodney has many maps and they will go on the walls in the office. Dad - I will bring the map that R got you when I come in August. Nothing was broken though we are missing two items - our good steak knives and the nic-nac shelf that I originally gave to my parents 30 years ago. I'm really upset about that and am still hoping it is in a box somewhere that we haven't opened!!!!! Maybe I gave it too my daughter and just don't remember.

4. R has started taking the dogs with him when he rides in the evening. Yes both of them together and they seem to stay up with him. Kelly looks like one of those dog commercials with the wind streaming thru his face. I am roller skating again. Still haven't learned how to stop though - especially on a hill. R had to catch me like a football the other day. I'm trying to do this at least every other day. R rides his bike with me.

5. I'm also selling Avon. Just started so don't have too many customers yet. It seems that there were no Avon ladies in my suburb so in order for me to get what I wanted, I had to start selling it. It is kinda fun and I used to sell Avon when I was pregnant with my daughter umpteen million years ago.

6. Speaking of being pregnant - April is now 5 months and her husband got to feel the baby kick for the first time the other day. Put a real grin on his face. Haven't seen a picture, but guess she is getting pretty big. Other family news is that Dad went in for a pace maker. It was a one day job and he came out okay. Mom says that he looks like he lost about 10 pounds - which he really can't spare. They are doing fine.

8. Hey April sent me a care package and it had two (mind you TWO) boxes of velveeta cheese!!!! I was soooooo happy. She also sent me some allergy pills, Girl Scout cookies (mint) and the Reba book.

9. So far what I've learned differently here is: Women dress very conservatively here for work. Black suits only with maybe a red jacket. Nothing colorful and their shoes look like something our Grandma's would wear. Some women wear high heels though. The skirts go below the knee also. Since I'm so casual - I'm having a hard time fitting in clothes-wise. R says that Canberra is the most "dressed up" for work city. Most others are more casual.

10. When I was getting my hair done the other day - I saw a guy walking a baby Llama. Really cute.

Well that is about all. I have pictures of the house that I will send next.

Luv to you all. Haven't seen any Roos this month though. We are going to Melbourne next weekend as one of R's son's is having an "engagement" party. I will get to meet both boys and their fiancee's. Both fiancee's are name Lisa!!!!

Next month
